UPGRADE INFORMATION - Click for UPGRADESAll textbooks need to change. There are many possible reasons for this. Sometimes the information in them was wrong to begin with. That might be something as simple as a spelling mistake. Sometimes the law changes and advice which was given when the book was printed is no longer legal. Medical textbooks in particular can go out of date very quickly due to new drugs, new products and new medical and surgical procedures. Books which train people can go out of date overnight if the syllabus is changed, as happened in 1998 with the Veterinary Nursing syllabus. Sometimes it's just that a complicated subject can be rewritten in a clearer and more easily understood way. Whatever the reason, we think that it is very important that the person using a textbook to train should have the latest and most up to date information. Until quite recently, this would have been impossible without the author rewriting the book, the publisher printing it and the student throwing away her old book and buying the new book. However, we have set up this web site so that a student who has bought a set of Veterinary Nurse Training textbooks need never buy another book and yet always be right up to date. Veterinary Nurse Training consists of ten books. Each book has its own separate upgrade page on this web site. Any change made to the books, for whatever reason, will be put on this web site and will not be removed until the next printing includes those changes, so that a student nurse buying the books will have the corrections already made. If a nurse or veterinary surgeon who already has a set logs on to the web site from time to time, they can download all upgrades free to add to their books. You may find that some of these upgrades are already in your books. This is because we print a new batch of books from time to time and any corrections and upgrades which we know about at the time will be automatically included. Another point is that some of these additions may mean that small changes have to be made to the Contents Index at the start of each of Volumes 1 to 6. You can make these alterations yourselves every time you download an upgrade or new section. Obviously, students who have already visited this web site and entered upgrades in their books will not want to go over the information they have already downloaded when they are looking for new upgrades. Because we want to make it as easy as possible for you to keep your books up to date, new upgrades for all ten volumes will be entered on the NEW UPGRADES page and kept there for sixty days. However, they will also be added to the regular upgrade pages for each separate volume. |
